Samoa Joe remains one of the most popular WWE Superstars to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. Samoa Joe was fired back in April as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts and this shocked the pro wrestling world.
Thankfully, Samoa Joe would finally make his return to the company on this past week’s episode of NXT, where he was offered to become the new NXT General manager, but turned down the offer. Samoa Joe then became William Regal’s new enforcer.
While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, 2-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T talked about Samoa Joe’s return to WWE NXT television. Booker T said that he believes Samoa Joe will thrive in his new role in NXT.
“I think sometimes, just like with Finn Balor when he came up to the main roster and kind of got lost in the shuffle. Finn Balor’s a hell of a talent but he was like a guy that… he’s there but he’s not really doing a whole lot because there are so many parts to that machine that everybody’s trying to get a piece of. Take a step back and go back to NXT and it looks like he’s feeling a lot better, looking a lot better and he’s getting a whole lot more TV time. Samoa Joe, I think that’s a spot for Joe to thrive in, in an authoritative perspective or in-ring. I think Joe will do much better as a talent in NXT.”
Many fans were glad to see Samoa Joe back on WWE NXT television as it brought back a much-needed intensity that was missing from NXT for a long time. We will have to see how Samoa Joe will fare in his role as William Regal’s enforcer.
