WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is one of the most legitimate athletes to have competed in the world of both MMA and pro wrestling. He has been booked as a very strong champion after many years of hard work.
Ever since the Royal Rumble pay-per-view last year, Drew McIntyre has been featured in the WWE Championship picture and that includes numerous title matches against Bobby Lashley. Many fans felt McIntyre has been in the title picture for far too long.
While speaking to Fightful, Bobby Lashley talked about Drew McIntyre getting so many shots at his WWE Championship. Lashley stated that McIntyre keeps on getting opportunities because no one is beating him.
“Everyone keeps talking ‘why does Drew keep getting an opportunity?’ Drew keeps getting an opportunity because no one is beating him. He’s number two. Let someone else be number two and that’s who gets the opportunity. We’re at a case right now to see who steps up to be number two. A lot of guys are really close to being able to do it and getting that momentum, but we don’t know. I don’t know if someone from the outside is going to come in to get some of this and wants to get beat up and sent back. I’m anxious to find out.”
Bobby Lashley is scheduled to defend his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at WWE Hell In A Cell on June 20. We will have to see if he will be able to retain his WWE Championship or not.
