AEW is always looking to improve their product in every way possible and AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes is at the forefront for a lot of things going on in the company.
AEW tried to be all-inclusive and on the occasion of Pride month, Cody Rhodes released a special t-shirt for Pride. All proceeds from the rainbow colored t-shirt will be going to a charity, but it still caused backlash from some fans.
Many fans blasted Cody Rhodes for not making Rose or Sonny Kiss the face of the initiative, as they are representatives of the community. Brandi Rhodes would come to her husband’s defense.
Now it seems Nyla Rose herself has spoke out regarding the matter while speaking to Yahoo Sports. Nyla Rose stated that fans are too ‘woke’ tend to overlook a lot of things. Rose added that she finds the fact that the LGBTQ community criticizes Cody Rhodes very silly.
“People tend to be a little too woke a lot of times and overlook a lot of things. Cody’s an ally and he wants to go out there and do good. How can you hate on someone who wants to do good because it isn’t how you want it to be done? That’s absolutely silly. Cody actually asked me about the charity, so I did my research and due diligence and said absolutely and we agreed it was a great place for the proceeds to go to. To have someone like Cody, Dustin Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes back me and see me as a person first, it means the world to me.”
Nyla Rose added that Cody Rhodes discussed the initiative well in advance with her and that she approved of his initiative after doing a lot of thorough research. As for Nyla Rose, she is expected to face off against Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s Championship soon enough.
