Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar seems to be the dream match that so many fans are cooking up in their heads. So many are curious about what would happen when the Beast Incarnate and All Mighty step in the ring together. That doesn’t seem to be in the cards at all as Lesnar’s return doesn’t look likely any time soon. There are still other people for Lashley to face in the meantime.
The WWE Champion has a big test at Hell in a Cell as he takes on Drew McIntyre. If the Scottish Warrior is unable to beat Lashley then he will forfeit any future opportunities at his title. The stakes are very high this Sunday.
While speaking to Fightful, Bobby Lashley went into some opponents that he could have waiting for him at SummerSlam. He noted how many fans want him to face Brock Lesnar, but there are plenty of other possibilities from Damian Priest to Randy Orton who could step up and face Lashley at the biggest party of the summer.
“Everybody says (Brock Lesnar), but there are so many guys at the top right now. Someone said Damian Priest, and that’s not the first person I thought about, but you have to take him in consideration. Randy (Orton), Riddle, (John) Morrison, Elias, Ryker, ‘The Fiend,’ Keith Lee, you have to take them in consideration. There are so many guys, I don’t know where some of these guys are at right now, but there are a lot of guys that are making big moves. The next few weeks really dictate who wants to step up. You have Money in the Bank and you have guys that are right there.
“Everyone keeps talking ‘why does Drew keep getting an opportunity?’ Drew keeps getting an opportunity because no one is beating him. He’s number two. Let someone else be number two and that’s who gets the opportunity. We’re at a case right now to see who steps up to be number two. A lot of guys are really close to being able to do it and getting that momentum, but we don’t know. I don’t know if someone from the outside is going to come in to get some of this and wants to get beat up and sent back. I’m anxious to find out.”
Bobby Lashley must make it through Hell in a Cell and Money in the Bank prior to SummerSlam. He seems determined to hold onto the WWE Title for a very long time to come. Vince McMahon has also booked him as an incredibly strong champion and now we will have to see who steps to the big man next.
