FOX is getting a Hell in a Cell match tonight as the company runs Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio’s planned match a couple of days early. Both USA Network and FOX have both been pitching ideas and it seems that USA Network is not happy that FOX is getting that popular match.
During Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Andrew Zarian stated that USA Network was not happy at all that FOX received this HIAC match for the go-home episode before the pay-per-view. They aren’t “fuming,” but they aren’t thrilled about the situation.
“I can tell you for a fact that USA Network is very unhappy that the Hell in a Cell match is happening on Smackdown. I’m not gonna say they are fuming but they are very unhappy about it.”
We’ll have to see what happens tonight, but it is not expected that Roman Reigns will wrestle at Hell in a Cell since they are doing the Universal Title match early. FOX and USA Network both want better ratings and a Hell in a Cell match will likely help out a lot.
The networks have been pitching different ideas to WWE from tournaments to crossing over with the NFL and NASCAR. It is certainly a new idea to give away a Hell in a Cell match on live television.
