WWE operates at Vince McMahon’s discretion and one change of policy from The Chairman can cause the entire process to alter. It seems that he has made another internal declaration that must be followed.

Jeff Hardy took on Cedric Alexander this week on Raw, but a very interesting stipulation was added to the match at the last minute. If Hardy lost the match, then he would retire. This segment brought a lot of questions from fans, and it stemmed from a new edict from Vince McMahon.
Ringside News has been told that all of the makeshift angles on Raw were constructed for a reason. Vince McMahon has been “beating up the writers and producers” over suggestions for “cold matches.”
Now there is an unwritten edict where no more cold matches will be produced. They are looking for stories and not just pro wrestling matches for the sake of having a match. Like with all Vince McMahon edicts, we will have to see how long this lasts.
Vince McMahon has his own way that he wants things done. As we previously exclusively reported, Vince isn’t looking for wrestlers to call up from NXT, he is looking for characters. It doesn’t matter who the wrestler is, because McMahon wants to to know what their character is like. Now he wants to make sure that every match happens for a reason, at least that is the goal.
