Karrion Kross is set to defend the NXT Title against four other men at TakeOver: In Your House. That match could see Kross drop the title without being pinned, a perfect way to get that belt off of him prior to a main roster call-up. How will that call-up go for Kross?
WWE sent scouts to the Performance Center recently to check out some practice matches. The idea is that several main roster call-ups are on the way. Ringside News also exclusively reported that Vince McMahon is looking for characters instead of wrestlers.
Dave Meltzer discussed Karrion Kross’ eventual main roster call-up during Wrestling Observer Radio. He expressed concern that WWE might change up Kross’ move set once they take a look at him work.
“The thing with Kross that nobody talks about, is it’s one in NXT, but when he gets to the main roster and he does those saito suplexes, I got a feeling they’ll tell him not to and that’s the only thing he does that’s impressive. Maybe they’ll tell him, and I could see them just going ‘hey, tone it down on that move, because that’s a high-angle move.'”
WWE likes to protect their Superstars whenever they can. If that means nixing a wrestler’s signature move, then so be it. Karrion Kross could be on his way to RAW or SmackDown. The biggest question at this point is how he will be presented if and when that day happens.
Would you nix Karrion Kross’ saito suplex? Sound off in the comments!
