The Undertaker has been a major star in WWE for the majority of his time in the company. That’s one of the reasons why he refused to lose to WWE Head Coach Matt Bloom in a regular match on TV with no build-up.

This was during the time Matt Bloom was part of a group known as the X-Factor, which also comprised of X-Pac and Justin Credible. Although The Deadman was booked to lose to Bloom, he allegedly refused to do the job, stating it wasn’t going to happen.

Speaking on Cultaholic’s Desert Island Graps show, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recalled how it went down.

“They actually booked him [Matt Bloom] to beat Undertaker on TV one time, but Undertaker was like, ‘Nah, that’s not happening. Like, just out of nowhere?’ And I don’t blame Mark. It’s almost like telling Steve [Austin] to come to TV just so he can do a job for Brock [Lesnar] real quick. It was during the X-Factor stuff. We were still X-Factor.”

Matt Bloom never reached the same level of success in WWE like The Undertaker did, so it wouldn’t have made sense at all to have him go over The Undertaker in a meaningless match. Thankfully, The Phenom put his foot down and said no.
