For the past couple of months, WWE has been releasing several employees including WWE Superstars, beginning with the release of Superstars such as Samoa Joe and The IIconics in April.
After that, WWE continued to let go many employees and NXT Superstars before finally releasing major WWE Superstars such as Braun Strowman or Aleister Black last week.
The releases shook the pro wrestling world to its core. However, it seems a veteran WWE Superstar isn’t affected by the latest slew of releases.
While speaking with Vibe and Wrestling, Sheamus talked about the latest round of WWE releases. Sheamus stated that it’s simply part of the business and that the locker room morale hasn’t been affected by the releases.
“The locker room has just got to get on with it. I’ve been with the company 12 years. It’s part of the business, it happens. People come in and people go and you just got to get down with it. Every monday, you got to get down, and you got to go out there and you got to perform.
I don’t think the morale of the locker room is down. I think the morale is pretty good. I think it’s a lot better than it was when I first started. I think there’s a lot more comradery there right now than there ever has been.”
It is not known whether what Sheamus is saying true or not as it is likely many people backstage in WWE were affected by the releases. Mark Henry certainly believes that locker room morale has been affected.
