Aleister Black’s time in NXT was certainly a memorable one, which featured him winning the NXT Championship and competing at the highest level against the likes of Andrade and Johnny Gargano.
Unfortunately for him, his main roster run was the exact opposite and left a lot to be desired. For a very long hiatus from WWE television, Black made his return to WWE television, but to no avail as he was subsequently released by WWE last week.
While speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Aleister Black explained the difference in booking between Triple H in NXT and Vince McMahon on the main roster.
“I think one of the main issues is that there [are] too many cooks in the kitchen. Whereas Hunter [Triple H] has a vision and oversees the entire vision with his team. He always puts his ear to the ground and he communicates very one-on-one with his talent and everybody shares his vision. Where I feel the main roster a lot of people think that they know Vince’s [McMahon’s] vision, they haven’t closely followed the people that are being brought up. Vince sees individuals and is completely mesmerized by them. And then when he has them he’s like, ‘All right, where do I place you?’ I feel the time spent with ‘Where do I place you?’ kind of loses it because it’s taking too long for people to be placed.”
Aleister Black now goes by his old ring name Tommy End and has already been booked for his first appearance since being released by WWE. There is also support backstage in WWE for Aleister Black’s return to the company so we certainly wonder if he’ll ever come back.
