Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman were once members of the Wyatt Family together. Strowman was green as grass when WWE called him up from the Performance Center with minimal in-ring experience under his belt. A few years later, the only member of the Wyatt Family left in WWE is Bray Wyatt himself.
Rowan recently spoke to Chris Featherstone about a few things. Braun Strowman’s WWE release came up in the conversation. Rowan said “that’s what you get when you sign that big-money contract.” He was there last year and now Strowman is dealing with the same issue.
“You know, a year ago, I was in the same position. That’s what you get when you sign that big-money contract. It’s not guaranteed money, man! [laughs]. Nothing in this world is guaranteed. Just get back on, just get back on the horse and keep moving on, man.”
The pro wrestling world could see Strowman an Erick Redbeard reunite and form a pretty epic tag team. We’ll have to see what’s in the cards, but Strowman likely won’t be getting another contract worth $1.2 million a year wherever he ends up next.
WWE freed up millions of dollars when Braun Strowman was released. The company used the excuse of budget cuts to explain their actions. Many fans are under the impression that Nick Khan wants to sell WWE eventually, but Wall Street still seems to be no-selling that idea.
