Jimmy Smith made a name for himself as a play-by-play commentator on Bellator and it seems his skills transferred quite well into his role as part of the commentary team on Monday Night RAW.
Smith made his debut on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW as a WWE commentator, as he replaced Adnan Virk. While Virk would be criticized on a regular basis, that was not the case for Smith as fans certainly loved his work.
In fact, his work was received so well that those in WWE considered him to be a natural fit in the role on Monday Night RAW. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Jimmy Smith talked about Adnan Virk’s role as a WWE commentator.
Smith was asked about his energy levels and what his honest thoughts were regarding Adnan Virk’s performance as a commentator on Monday Night RAW. Smith stated that he had to turn up the volume whenever Virk was speaking.
“I’m going to be totally honest with you. When I was watching Adnan Virk last time, I had to turn [the volume] up. I had to literally turn it up, and then Corey Graves and Byron Saxton, I had to turn down. Because, I couldn’t hear Adnan and had to turn it up, and when Corey or Byron brought energy it blasted my TV, and I had to keep turning it up and down. I was like, ‘That shouldn’t be happening.’
We will have to see whether Jimmy Smith will continue to do a good job or not in the coming few weeks as he certainly needs to be consistent in order to improve as a WWE commentator.
