WWE Preparing To Release ‘Major Names’ This Week

For the past couple of months, WWE has been releasing several employees including WWE Superstars, which started with the April 15th release of the likes of Samoa Joe and Mickie James.

Since then there have been numerous releases all across the board, including from NXT and and over 60 backstage employees overall have been fired.

Now it seems there might be more sweeping cuts taking place soon. According to Fightful Select , more cuts could be starting as soon as this week itself.

The report also noted that WWE sources have confirmed there is a working list, which include some ‘major names’ that are being considered for their release from the company.

We’ve spoken with WWE sources all across the company that have major names that were being considered for the cuts. There is an ongoing list, though in the recent past, WWE has changed their mind on cutting certain people at the last minute.

It is to be noted that the specific phrasing was “major names that were being considered”, so it is not a guarantee that they will be fired.

At the moment it is not known just how many people the company plans on letting go. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
