WWE started airing those MMA themed vignettes back in April, but they haven’t revealed anything specific about what fans should expect. All of those question could be answered in a big way soon. Now the Diamond Mine is “opening soon.”
WWE had plans for the Diamond Mine since late 2020 as they filed a trademark on December 30th. It appears that NXT could be getting an MMA style brand.
Some people have made comparisons to “NXT Underground,” but we’re not 100% certain what to expect yet. Athletes are seen in the commercials using Fusion X-Cel bags. That is a brand that teaches MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Tai, and other personal training.
According to Wrestling Inc, several MMA fighters are sponsored by the Fusion X-Cel brand as well. Those names include Ronoldo “Jacare” Souza, “Platinum” Mike Perry, Alex “Spartan” Nicholson, Alan “Nuguette” Patrick, Julien “J Smoove” Williams, Jorge Patino “Macaco”, Phil “Fresh Prince” Rowe, Rodolfo “Black Belt Hunter” Vieira, Jakob “Bubba” Scheffel, Rafael Souza, Ben “Killa B” Saunders, Cleveland McLean, Thiago “Bananinha” Belo, Lucas Alexander, Matt Ferraiolo, Angel Mercado, Joe “The Party” Penafiel, Rashaun Jackson, and Hannah Goldy.
They played another video vignette this week without giving much more information. It was simply said that the Diamond Mine is opening soon. This could be a very interesting addition to the black and gold brand.
