The Undertaker will forever be remembered as one of the greatest pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He gave more than three decades of his life to the business and The Undertaker’s contributions will never be forgotten.
When it comes to getting tattoos in WWE, it is usually frowned upon if a Superstar gets a tattoo without informing the company first. This is done purely for presentation and marketing reasons.
While speaking on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, The Godfather stated that he thought The Undertaker was “too big and white” to not have any ink on him. Without getting prior permission from Vince McMahon, The Godfather persuaded The Undertaker to get his first tattoo during a trip to Las Vegas. This move ticked off Vince McMahon quite a lot.
“It was the happiest day of my life when I got him that first tattoo. I think he only was in Vegas once. As he became a bigger celebrity, he started getting bigger-name tattoo guys tattooing him. But I’m the one, I’m the reason that he got that first one! And Vince was hot. Vince was hot about it. I got them [tattoo sleeves] but yeah, Vince was hot about it.”
The Undertaker now has several tattoos all over his arms and also around his neck and it is likely Vince McMahon wasn’t angry about them as he gave permission to The Deadman beforehand.
The Undertaker has been enjoying his life in retirement since then but had also mentioned earlier that he wanted to mentor young WWE talents. We will have to see what is next in store for the Phenom.
