WWE Hall Of Famer Ted DiBiase remains one of the most popular and hated heels during the late 80s and early 90s. DiBiase’s character work continues to be iconic and rarely replicated to the same degree of effectiveness.

For those who don’t remember, The Million Dollar Man was unofficially the WWE Champion after Andre The Giant defeated Hulk Hogan for the title and immediately surrendered it to DiBiase on The Main Event in 1988.

Due to the controversy surrounding the title win, WWE figurehead Jack Tunney vacated the championship and a tournament was held to crown a new champion at WrestleMania 4. It pitted Ted DiBiase and Macho Man” Randy Savage in the finals but DiBiase ultimately came up short.

Now it seems The Million Dollar Man wants his WWE title reign to be officially recognized by the company. Ted DiBiase recently took to Twitter and petitioned to have the company officially recognize his reign.

Everyone’s got a price for the #MillionDollarMan, even @TheGiant46. In 1988, Andre helped me win the championship from @HulkHogan. @WWE doesn’t recognize this as an official title reign. With the help of the #WWEUniverse we can #MakeItOfficial. https://milliondollarman.com/makeitofficial

Thousands of fans have signed the petition already and I didn’t buy a single one! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! Let’s keep it going! The #MillionDollarMan always gets his title.

Ted DiBiase is one of the most highly-respected and universally hated heel characters and he is staying true to his character by wanting his only WWE title reign to be recognized in the history books. We will have to see if Ted DiBiase gets his wish or not.
