WWE released six Superstars from the roster today, and a couple of those names had high-dollar contracts. It’s unclear how much Aleister Black was pulling in, but the company elected not to keep him on their payroll.
Sean Sapp reported that Aleister Black showed up on Zelina Vega’s Twitch stream. He was asked about his WWE release and he revealed that “budget cuts” was the reason given to him for his firing.
Aleister Black says on Thea’s stream that “budget cuts” was the reason given for his release
WWE never pulled the trigger on using Aleister Black to his full potential. The former NXT Superstar had just returned to the company’s television two weeks ago and was supposed to feud with Big E. That is not materializing now.
This talk about budget cuts lends even more weight to the rumor that Vince McMahon could set his company up for a sale soon. We will have to see what is going on there, but this is not the first indication that we have received that WWE could be up for sale soon.
