On the May 14 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Natalya and Tamina challenged Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Natalya and Tamina had been in pursuit of the titles for the past couple of months and their pursuit finally bore fruit.

After a very hard-fought battle, Natalya and Tamina finally defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. This decision was met with a lot of positive reactions from fans and WWE Superstars alike.

While speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Natalya and Tamina talked about their huge title win and how well it was received backstage in the company. She revealed that Bayley had every female WWE Superstar gather in the Gorilla position to celebrate their triumphant win.

“I had no idea that Bayley rallied the troops and got all the girls into Gorilla during our match the night we won the titles. Every girl in the locker room, no matter what role, was there and they were jumping up and down. TJ said the girls created a fan-like environment in Gorilla when we won the titles where even Vince was like, ‘Holy shit.’ The girls are ride or die. We’ve all grown close to each other and want to give and see each other succeed.”

Natalya then admitted she felt a little guilty about winning the titles as she felt Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan deserve the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. While doing so, Natalya might just have accidentally spoiled Riott and Morgan eventually winning the titles.

“I had a little guilt winning the titles because as much as I felt like we deserved it, especially Tamina, I also look at Ruby and Liv. They’re the longest-formed tag team in WWE and we want them to have a chance and a moment. I’m super excited about competing against Ruby and Liv because they are two of the best in the division. In us winning, it’ll also be part of their success. We know how to pay it forward.”

Natalya has a penchant of accidentally spoiling things in the past as she has done so on numerous occasions, which has led to plans changing at the last moment. Whether this is deliberate or not is another topic of discussion altogether. We will have to see if Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott eventually win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
