CM Punk isn’t in WWE anymore, and he’s likely happy about that. He does see what the company is doing and they released six Superstars today. That came as a big shock because there were some high profile names among those releases.

“Budget Cuts” was given as the reason to Superstars for their releases. This was not lost on a lot of people as WWE continues seeing record profits. Now they are rumored to be gearing up to sell the whole company.

CM Punk replied to John Squires talking about how the latest wave of releases reflects a greater problem in WWE. Recent years has seen a ton of great talent wasted. Punk knows all about that and he had to chime in.

It’s like a movie with a blockbuster budget and cast, but if it’s written by creatively bankrupt nincompoops specifically for an audience of one, in a language nobody understands anymore, it’s…..trash. But people watch it because they like movies.

Renee Paquette also called out WWE for their “horrible mismanagement” of talent. Obviously, those stars were capable of far more.

We will have to see where all six of today’s released Superstars ends up, but CM Punk is of the popular opinion that their releases are partly to blame on terrible creative from his former company.

What’s your take on WWE’s releases today? Is the company gearing up for a sale? Sound off in the comments!
