Roman Reigns is the current WWE Universal Champion and is one of the top Superstars in the company right now. He has proven himself to be an excellent champion with great character work and in-ring skills.

He also showed off his heel character during his various encounters with Adam Pearce. Back in January of this year, Adam Pearce became the #1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship after winning the gauntlet match. Of course, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso manipulated the odds in their favor as they beat up Shinsuke Nakamura before he could face Adam Pearce properly.

However, Adam Pearce never got to face off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship as he faked an injury to get out of the match and was ultimately replaced by Kevin Owens.

While speaking to Oliver Browning of GiveMeSport, Adam Pearce talked about facing Roman Reigns someday in the future. Pearce stated that there would be no chance that he would turn down a match against Roman Reigns. Pearce added that he is also perfectly happy with his current role in the company.

“If you come to me tomorrow and say, ‘Hey, let’s rewind to the Royal Rumble. If that match was actually going to happen, there is no chance I’d turn that down. That would have been incredible. But it’s not something I ever pushed for or ever expected to happen. It’s not something I aspire to.”

Adam Pearce ended his in-ring career back in 2014 and hasn’t wrestled in a match since then. With Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal Championship run unlikely to end anytime soon, we certainly wonder if Pearce will eventually face him in a match.
