WWE cut a ton of people from the company in recent memory. 10 Superstars, multiple NXT talent, and over 60 backstage employees all lost their jobs. Now the company is bringing on three new executives to the team.
Vince McMahon’s company has hired on Jamie Horowitz as Executive Vice President, Development & Digital, Samira Shah as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and Matt Drew as Senior Vice President, International.
Horowitz has two decades of experience in the sports and media industry. .He will oversee WWE’s original content including scripted and unscripted shows for digital and social media. He will also be responsible for WWE Studios.
Shah will oversee WWE’s legal affairs and serve as legal adviser for the company. Her responsibilities will include litigation, intellectual property, corporate governance, government relations, risk management, and talent contracts and compliance.
Drew will be in charge of WWE’s brand and business outside of the U.S. He will also be responsible for managing WWE’s global media partners and will work with company leaders to concoct WWE’s international strategy. Drew previously served as Executive Vice President, Rights Acquisition at DAZN
We will have to see if the company makes any more changes in the upcoming weeks. These three hires will certainly have a lot of power within the company.
