Mark Henry debuted for AEW at Double or Nothing, but he didn’t say anything. He will appear on AEW Dynamite this week and speak his piece. He will also reveal much more on Busted Open Radio today.

AEW has pulled in a lot of big names from outside the company, some have been WWE Hall of Famers. Adding the World’s Strongest Man to the roster is certainly an attention-grabbing choice.

During the post Double or Nothing media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about how Mark Henry ended up in AEW. Khan said that he and Henry are friends and that sparked a conversation between the two. Khan praised Henry’s mind for pro wrestling and his scouting reports as well. Now Henry is set to help out AEW in front of the camera on Rampage an behind-the-scenes.

“Mark Henry and I are friends. Mark told me he was available and to do things that I would be really interested in doing. I thought that would be really interesting because he’s not only a good friend but a really respected person in the wrestling business. A great wrestler, a great mind, a great scout, and a great analyst in wrestling. He gives his opinions on the radio, but he provides great scouting reports and he really has helped mentor a lot of wrestlers in addition to being a great wrestling mind. I think he could be not only a great on-air personality but a great backstage influence. He’s a great friend and person, so it’s just great to have Mark in the AEW family, and it was great to announce it on such a special show.”

We will have to see what Mark Henry is able to do for AEW all around. He is a great talent scout and could already have his eye on a few people that he wants to suggest for All Elite Wrestling. It is unknown how long Mark Henry signed with the company for, but they seem excited about the possibilities for the future.
