NJPW and WWE are currently in talks in order to form a possible partnership in the future, which was a move made by WWE President Nick Khan. Khan was trying to make a deal with NJPW so that WWE may become the exclusive United States partner for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
AEW President Tony Khan cut a very scathing promo on Nick Khan’s actions, which certainly got a lot of attention from various sources. Tony Khan would even go on to call Nick Khan a con man in his promo.
While speaking on the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrums, Tony Khan addressed his scathing promo on Nick Khan. Tony Khan revealed that he talked to NJPW about the promo and the company approved of his idea and thought it was a great promo.
“I talked to New Japan and I asked them if they thought it would be a good idea and a good promo. They thought it was great and I thought it would be a great promo. It made sense. It was a big weekend for us and it’s true, we have a lot of stuff going with New Japan. Everyone is welcome to talk to each other and we’ve done some great stuff with New Japan just in the last few weeks and I think we’re going to do a lot of great things going forward with everything we’ve talked about and agreed to. I’m excited about it.”
We certainly wonder if WWE and NJPW will be able to work out a deal and if they do, it is likely that the partnership they have with AEW and Impact Wrestling will be affected as well.
