Adam Cole Says There’s Nobody He’d Rather Be In The Ring With Than Pete Dunne

Adam Cole is touted as one of the best in-ring workers WWE has ever seen and remains one of the top Stars in NXT since making his debut back in 2017. His in-ring skills are second to none and he has competed in some of the best matches in NXT’s history.

Cole also gets constantly compared to Shawn Michaels, which shows his true worth. However, Cole also has his favorites when it comes to his opponents inside the squared circle.

While speaking to NXT UK Superstar Mark Andrews on his My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, Adam Cole talked about talked about pro wrestling in general and that included Pete Dunne, with whom Adam Cole is certainly familiar with.

Adam Cole gave a lot of praise to Pete Dunne as Cole stated that there is nobody he would rather be in the ring with than Pete Dunne, adding that there is a 99% chance Pete Dunne’s match on any given show will be the match of the night.

“Pete Dunne is absolutely one of the best in the world, and he is for sure, without question, one of the best I’ve ever been in the ring with. I’ve been lucky to wrestle lots of really talented people, but Pete Dunne is in that special category. When I say Pete is special, I mean that. There’s a 99% chance that if Pete Dunne is on a show, he’s going to have the best match of the show. He’s absolutely incredible.

“When I wrestled him at Survivor Series there was no one else I’d have rather been in the ring with. The amazing thing about Pete, and it’s funny because I was talking about this with Shawn Michaels, but Pete has this way, no matter who’s he’s in the ring with he brings out the best in them. When you’re in there with him, you feel like you can bring out a different side of yourself.”

Adam Cole has not been featured on NXT television properly since his loss to Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. On the other hand, Pete Dunne is set to face off against O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano on next week’s episode of NXT. The winner will become the #1 contender for NXT Championship and face Karrion Kross at TakeOver: In Your House. We will have to see who will win the match in the end.
