Adnan Virk was hired as part of the Monday Night RAW commentary team as he made his debut right after WrestleMania 37. Unfortunately for Virk, he simply couldn’t get used to his role as a WWE commentator and was panned by fans every week.
In the end, Adnan Virk made his departure from the company and stated that the weekly ”grind” when it came to travelling was simply too much for him and his family. Since then, Adnan Virk received a job offer from an adult site.
Adnan Virk’s release was said to be a mutual one according to WWE’s official statement. Now it seems there is more to the story than initially thought. According to a report by Fightful Select, even if the release was mutual, the company already intended on firing Virk from the role, even if he didn’t want to be released.
WWE was going to make the move regardless, and had their mind made up even before the May 24 Raw.
The company knew they were going to fire Virk before this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. It was also stated that WWE and Adnan Virk were “hoping to keep it amicable”, but both were said to be “very aware that the situation wasn’t working out”.
WWE already announced that Jimmy Smith will be replacing Adnan Virk as part of the commentary team on Monday Night RAW and he has already commented on his new role. We will have to see if Smith will do a better job than Adnan Virk.
