WWE has a lot of things going on and call-ups from NXT could be coming. Fans saw the debut of Rick Boogs last week on SmackDown, but more could be on the way. Finn Balor might just be part of that next wave of call-ups.
Balor lost an NXT Title match to Karrion Kross this week. That show had lackluster viewership against the NBA Playoffs, but just imagine how dismal the number would have been without that high profile match.
It seems that WWE creative has asked about Balor. According to Wrestle Votes, this is a request that was put in months ago. As of right now it doesn’t seem like any edict has been made regarding his call-up. After all, WWE creative is not the department that makes the call. That is up to Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard.
Regarding Finn Balor: I’m told members of the RAW creative team have asked for him for months now. No edict has come down from the top yet yanking him from Orlando. The NXT crew adores Balor so unless the main roster has major plans for him, I’d think he’s OK where he is.
Finn Balor was brought to NXT as the company was preparing to wage war with AEW Dynamite on Wednesdays. That did not stop AEW’s progression, but it did leave The Prince in NXT for a longer stay. He has made main roster money on the black and gold brand, representing NXT as their champion for a lot of that time.
We will have to see what’s next for Finn Balor, but he could make his return to the main roster soon enough. It would certainly make sense for that to happen now with the return of live fans.
