WWE Hall Of Famer Edge last competed at WrestleMania 37, where he faced off against Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of Night Two of the pay-per-view.

Edge would be unable to win the match and become the WWE Universal Champion. Since then, the Rated R Superstar has been absent from WWE television and fans have been wondering about the reason for his absence.

While speaking on Fightful Select’s Backstage Report podcast, Sean Sapp was asked regarding Edge’s absence from WWE television and if it was because he suffered any injuries. It seems that isn’t the case as Edge simply took a planned time off after WrestleMania 37.

As per Edge’s current WWE contract, he is slated to wrestle five times a year. With SummerSlam set to take place in a few months, it is likely the Rated R Superstar will return in time for a program at the pay-per-view. We will have to see who Edge will feud with once he returns.
