Cody Rhodes had a list of dream matches that he wanted to do after leaving WWE. He didn’t get to every single one of those matches, but he did make a lot of noise in the pro wrestling world. That eventually led him to AEW. While Chelsea Green might not have an EVP role in her future, she is looking toward the American Nightmare for inspiration.
During Booker T’s Hall of Fame radio show, Chelsea Green discussed how she wants to emulate Cody Rhodes’ post-WWE career in what she does after her own WWE release.
“I have had some time to think about this. At first, I was kind of like, ‘What am I going to do? What is the right thing to do?’ There is no right thing and there are so many options right now. Next I thought I really want to emulate my next six months after what Cody Rhodes did [after his WWE departure].”
“I thought that was really great for [Cody’s] career and what he did and what I would like to do is be a free agent and try to be the hottest free agent I can be. Maybe I don’t sign anywhere until 2022, and I just spend the rest of 2021 checking off bucket list matches I have and trying to go to the top companies.”
“I definitely wanna go back to Impact and see everyone there. I’ve never worked for Ring of Honor and would love to go there. I’ve already made connections at AAA in Mexico and at STARDOM in Japan. And of course, AEW is huge, and I was on their first show All In. All those things, I kind of want to hop around and show my face everywhere and decide later on what the right move is. Right now, I’m just so focused on getting back in the ring and get my cardio up and work new people and try new things. There are just so much to do, so I don’t know that I want to lock myself down.”
Chelsea Green could end up in any number of companies when her non-compete clause is over. It was previously reported that she is already in talks with Impact Wrestling about a return for The Hot Mess.
The world seems open for Green right now, but we will continue paying attention to whatever she does. There are a lot of things she wants to do between wrestling and posing for Playboy. Keep checking back with Ringside News and we will keep you updated on her latest decision.
