WWE released several people from the NXT brand yesterday. A lot of fans chimed in to ask why Velveteen Dream was still around. It took a day, but Dream is no longer with WWE.
According to PW Insider, Velveteen Dream has been released by WWE. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise since the controversial Superstar hasn’t been seen on television since losing to Adam Cole at A Very Gargano Christmas in December 2020.
WWE NXT star Velveteen Dream was released today by the company, according to multiple sources.
Dream hadn’t been at the WWE Performance Center in months, only showing up again recently. He was also backstage at Raw last week, but he wasn’t used. There were also reports that there was no plan to ever use him.
The now former WWE NXT Superstar was the subject of much controversy following allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior. WWE said that they conducted an investigation at the time, but found no evidence of any wrongdoing. One of Dream’s accusers later came forward and said that they were never contacted.

Velveteen Dream entered WWE through Tough Enough as Patrick Clark. Mick Foley was such a fan of Patrick’s during the show that he was openly upset after his elimination. He had a long run in NXT, but that time has come to an end.
We will have to see if more releases are coming after this new one. Keep checking back with Ringside News.
