Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract expired and he is now a free agent. He could show up at any pro wrestling event he likes as long as he’s permitted to travel there and he is booked. AEW’s new deal with WarnerMedia will see more money coming into the company, but did that change Bryan’s situation?
It was previously reported that someone who could be a real difference-maker is now reluctant to sign with AEW because of rumors about problems between management. It was never confirmed that person is Daniel Bryan, but plenty of fans have floated that theory out there.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked if AEW’s new WarnerMedia deal could impact Daniel Bryan’s decision. He said that it likely wouldn’t change anything. Then Meltzer went on to explain that Bryan’s situation is a huge secret at this point where few people know what his actual plan is.
“Daniel Bryan, you know it’s always a possibility. Who knows? I don’t know if anyone knows today what’s going on with him right now?”
Daniel Bryan could easily get worked back into any storyline on WWE television. He just needs to ink a new deal. That has not happened yet, and his status is still a mystery.
Bryan is enjoying his time off and he deserves it. Now we will have to wait on his next decision. There is no risk of him retiring from pro wrestling, because he’s already stated that there are plans to wrestle into his 70s to some degree.
Should Daniel Bryan go back to WWE or should Bryan Danielson go to AEW? Sound off in the comments!
