AEW is moving their programming to TBS in 2022, but TNT will still air four annual special events. This caused a lot of fans to wonder if the company might change their presentation a bit to fit their new television home.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked if AEW will be forced to tone down their programming content with their upcoming TBS move. It seems that WarnerMedia knows what they are buying and there doesn’t seem to be any indication that a tamer AEW is on the way.
“There’s nothing to that, but as far as they’re giving them more hours. They’re giving them Clash Of Champions, so to speak. You know, they’re getting live specials and they are giving them more money.”
He later said, “there won’t be any difference there [with blood], same standards and practices on each station.”
The general idea is that WarnerMedia is very happy with what AEW is producing. They also know that AEW drops at least one S Bomb during every show and is known to feature blood on their programming.
Featuring a match like Blood & Guts after a bunch of sitcom re-runs on TBS might seem out of place now, but WarnerMedia knows what they’re buying. They also want more AEW on their networks.
Does AEW use too much blood and profanity? Sound off in the comments!
