WWE is making some tough choices in the NXT brand. The black and gold brand added a few names to their roster recently with the biggest Performance Center class in company history. Now they are making cuts.
News of Drake Wuertz’s release came first and that was followed by referee Jake Clemons. Alexander Wolfe is also no longer with the company. The cuts are not stopping there.
According to PW Insider, WWE has cut Jessamyn Duke from the NXT roster. This is a bit of a surprise, because she is a member of Ronda Rousey’s 4 Horsewomen. Duke was also an important part of the Up Up Down Down show.
It was also reported that Vanessa Borne has been released from her contract. Borne was called up to the WWE main roster last year, but they never used her. She was around for many weeks backstage, but creative never gave her anything to do. Fans were wondering what would happen with her, and now she is gone.
Sean Sapp also reported that Kavita Devi was released. Devi is the first female Indian to wrestle for WWE.
As we previously reported, WWE is giving the reason “budget cuts” for all of today’s releases.
We will continue monitoring this ongoing story here at Ringside News. The releases could keep coming, and some more surprises could be on the way as well.
