AEW Dynamite is moving to TBS in January 2022. This is a big announcement that will shake up the pro wrestling world. There will be no shortage of AEW action on Turner Networks.
Deadline reports that TNT’s wrestling show will be moving to TBS in January 2022. This move comes along with TNT adding a new hour-long series AEW: Rampage to the network which will debut on Friday, August 13th at 10:00 PM. In 2022, both shows will air on TBS.
TNT will also debut four new annual pro wrestling specials as part of this new deal. All of this will culminate with AEW’s big move to TBS in January 2022.
AEW and WarnerMedia signed an extension on their contract last year. This ensured the company has a place on television until 2023. Chris Jericho commented on this while saying that was the moment when the Wednesday Night Wars really ended.
Sam Linsky, Associate General Manager, SVP, Programming and Operations, TBS, TNT and truTV was very happy about this new deal that they have struck with AEW.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to help Tony Khan expand his wrestling fiefdom across our networks and bring more content to our fans that fits the thrill ride brand of TNT and good time of TBS. It’s Wednesday. You know what that means.”
It is Wednesday, and we all know what that means. Friday will soon be a very important night for AEW fans as well, because AEW: Rampage is coming in August.
We will continue monitoring this ongoing situation as more information is made known about AEW Rampage and the other four annual specials. This is certainly an exciting time to be a pro wrestling fan, and now AEW has finally revealed their second WarnerMedia show.
