Rey Mysterio’s Wife & Daughter React To Historic Tag Team Title Win At WrestleMania Backlash

WrestleMania Backlash saw Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik Mysterio team up to face off against Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.

Despite Roode and Ziggler taking out Dominik before the match, he would still make his way into the match at the right time and evened the odds. After a lot of back and forth, it was the Mysterios who ended up winning the match after Dominik hit a top rope splash on Roode for the victory.

The two would make history as the first-ever father/son tag team champions in the company. The entire WWE Universe celebrated, as did fellow WWE Superstars. Most importantly, Rey Mysterio’s wife, Angie, and his daughter Aalyah also saw the match.

Angie and Aalyah appeared on the WrestleMania Backlash Watch Along during the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match. When Rey and Dominik Mysterio finally won the match, Aalyah and Angie became very emotional and embraced each other in celebration.

“Like a wife, like a mother, I’m so proud of my family. I’m so happy for them. This is the best moment of my life just to see my husband and my son winning the titles. This is…the best.”

It was certainly a feel-good moment for everyone involved as well as the WWE Universe. We will have to see how The Mysterios’ tag team title run will be booked as it is likely Roode and Ziggler isn’t done with them just yet.
