The WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view was a night of memorable moments and great matches, for the most part. The show also featured the Lumberjack match between The Miz and Damian Priest. This zombie decision was panned by fans and pro wrestlers alike. Batista told fans to complain directly to Vince McMahon. Chris Jericho also decided to troll the company over the inclusion of zombies.
Le Champion took to Twitter and took a shot at the company by saying the inclusion of zombies set pro wrestling back by thirty years. This was likely a reference to WWE higher ups believing AEW’s ‘Blood & Guts’ match set pro wrestling back by thirty years. Click here to read Ringside News’ exclusive report on the matter.
Zombies…ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years.
Once the match ended, Damian Priest quickly left the ring as the zombies proceeded to feast on The Miz while he stayed in the ring. A similar fate happened to John Morrison earlier in the match. Many fans would agree that WWE shouldn’t have used zombies in the first place for the Lumberjack match. We’ll have to see if The Miz and John Morrison miraculously recover from that zombie attack.
