WWE called Damian Priest up to the main roster from NXT just as the former North American Champion was really coming into his own. That call-up rolled right into WrestleMania and a spotlight match against Bad Bunny. It was a fast ride for Priest, but he still left matches in NXT that he wanted to do.

While speaking to Wide World of Sports, Damian Priest remarked about his fast NXT call-up. Priest had a few people that he wanted face in the black and gold brand, but that didn’t happen. Instead, WWE called him up to the main roster and he had to get ready in a hurry.

“In my head, I had plans on NXT. Things I wanted to achieve and people wanted to work with. So it was a little bit of ‘Oh, I’m going now?’ Then everything happened really fast, where it was like ‘you’re going to the Royal Rumble right after this match, Raw right after, then Bad Bunny and WrestleMania. So everything felt really fast.

“But I’m enjoying every second of it, this is where I want to be. For me, it’s not crazy, as far as I’m not ready. It’s more crazy that I’m happy and that this is so cool. Every day I wake up excited for what’s coming next.”

Damian Priest is enjoying every second he can of this experience. He knew that WrestleMania was a make-it or break-it kind of moment as well. Many told him that he would have been done in WWE if that Bad Bunny angle flopped.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Damian Priest in WWE, but there are also a lot of opponents that he wants to face on the main roster as well.
