Santana Unable At Attend AEW Dynamite Due To Illness

Santana was involved in a brutal Blood & Guts match last week, but that was not the reason why he was absent from Dynamite on Wednesday. The Inner Circle returned, but Santana was not with them. There is a reason for that, but they made it part of the storyline with a kayfabe reason.

It was said on Dynamite that Santana was arrested last week. That was supposedly the reason why he wasn’t on the show last night. He was said to have been picked up because he used a fork during the Blood & Guts match. As Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio, that absence was actually due to illness.

“The actual thing is that Santana is sick. When someone is sick right now, you know, I mean two years ago when someone was sick they’d probably there, but you know, you don’t take risks now. So, that’s what happened.”

There is no word on what kind of illness Santana is going through. He also hurt his back during the Blood & Guts match. Chris Jericho revealed on Talk Is Jericho that Santana was having problems walking the next day after the big double cage match.

Santana will hopefully be okay by the time the Stadium Stampede match rolls around on May 30th at Double Or Nothing.
