WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair is a legend in the pro wrestling world. He would call himself “The Man” and coined the popular term, “To be the man you gotta beat the man.”

Becky Lynch rose to superstardom in 2018 and began calling herself ‘The Man.’ Flair tried to trademark the term in 2019 and the issue was resolved last year after WWE gained the rights to use “The Man.”

While speaking to Conrad Thompson, Ric Flair revealed that he was worried that Flair lost Roman Reigns’ respect due to the trademark drama.

“I was concerned that I had lost the respect of Roman Reigns. Because when that whole ‘Man’ thing went upside down and all that and I had to file the trademark, whatever transpired, it means nothing now. I think people, I heard that he… and I walked right up to him. I said, ‘Can I have a minute of your time?’ and I said, ‘Hey, it means a lot to me.’ I mean, you want the kids [current WWE Superstars] to look forward to you coming, not, ‘Oh man, here he comes again.’ Does that make sense? Especially when you have a daughter who is at the most elite position she could be in.”

It seems Flair didn’t lose the respect of Roman Reigns in the end. Flair has been absent from WWE television for a long time now and it isn’t knowm when he will be making his WWE television return.
