KUSHIDA Takes Credit For Elevating WWE NXT Cruiserweight Title

This week’s episode of NXT featured a 2 out of 3 falls main event with the Cruiserweight Title on the line. Kushida and Santos Escobar battled in an intense match that could have gone either way. In the end, KUSHIDA clinched the 3rd fall with a bridging pin during the show’s overrun.

Following his big match against Escobar, KUSHIDA was feeling very confident with himself. He posted a tweet of himself holding that freshly defended title. The former NJPW star also included a caption that let fans know how much he’s done for the title.

Has this title ever been in the limelight so much before? This is the moment when this title is shining the most in history. Title match in the main event. I feel very confident tonight.

The Cruiserweight Title was not regarded as the most important belt in WWE for a while. It takes years to add prestige to a title, but KUSHIDA is doing his best to make sure that people know that Cruiserweight Title matches are nothing to sleep on.
