WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz was not at last night’s NXT television taping. He had something else that he saw as a priority. Wuertz has drawn a ton of attention to himself because of his outspoken right-wing opinion. He was at it again last night.
According to PW Insider, Wuertz missed NXT to attend a school board meeting for the Seminole County Public Schools. They were discussing mask mandates, and he was there to share his QAnon inspired opinion.
It was not noted if he received permission to miss last night’s taping. Obviously, he went to the meeting anyway. During his time on the microphone, Wuertz said that sex traffickers love masks because it covers the faces of children. He then went on a tirade about being a “trained certified volunteer about identifying the effects of harmful signs of child sex trafficking.”
Drake cut quite a promo on the microphone while rallying the crowd into multiple applause breaks. His speech was also interrupted a couple of times by someone on the board urging him to wrap things up.

WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz (aka former Death Match performer Drake Younger) missed last night’s NXT taping in order to attend a school board meeting for the Seminole County Public Schools, arguing to the Superintendent that, despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, he should refuse the masking of children in the schools, claiming that the dangers of wearing the masks “outweighs” the dangers of COVID-19 and that by not doing so, he was going against the wishes of God.
