Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw The Inner Circle take on The Pinnacle in the first-ever ‘Blood & Guts’ match and it was certainly a very brutal affair, nothing short of an all-out war.

When all was said and done, The Pinnacle emerged victorious. However, the reception to the match was very mixed as many fans didn’t like the ending to the match which saw Chris Jericho falling from the cage.

While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross shared his thoughts regarding the ‘Blood & Guts’ match. Ross said that while he did like the match, there was a lot that could have been improved. Ross stated that when there are so many competitors in a match, it will always be a ‘crapshoot’ no matter how talented the competitors in question are.

“I thought it was good. Yanno, you can always do something better, but I thought it was a nice creative outing. When you get that many guys in the ring, it’s always a crapshoot, no matter how good they are, no matter how talented they are, there’s 10 agendas. Whether we want to admit that or not, there’s 10 agendas when you have a 10 man tag. Everybody wants to get something in in a match that should be laid out to where everybody gets a slice of the pie.”

The match certainly helped AEW with its ratings as it became the #1 rated cable show last week. We will have to see how the company will plan on maintaining a high viewership after that match.
