Daniel Bryan is no longer an active member of the WWE roster and that includes his backstage responsibilities. He was excelling in his position backstage on the creative team and learning many facets of the production side. That doesn’t mean he wants to do it full time.
Ringside News asked around about the possibility of Daniel Bryan coming back to work for WWE in a backstage capacity. A report is out saying that Daniel Bryan has a full-time job backstage open for him if he wants it. We were told that Bryan isn’t interested in that.
A tenured member of the backstage team confirmed with us that “DB doesn’t want a full time job behind the scenes.” He was a writer on the SmackDown brand, but that was a part-time role.
Daniel Bryan is a free agent without any non-compete clause holding him back. Dave Meltzer commented on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bryan Danielson might be working the Tokyo Dome show this month if not for travel restrictions. Of course, that was prior to NJPW shutting down their shows for the month due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
As we exclusively reported, WWE and Daniel Bryan are keeping communication open between the two sides. They are also not rushing anything. That being said, you never know what can happen in pro wrestling.
