AEW presented Blood & Guts this week and it was quite a show. The only match for those live fans was the double cage match, and despite five requests for refunds, those fans at Daily’s Place got more than their money’s worth. The opinion in WWE is drastically different.

Dave Scherer said on PW Insider that WWE management was pretty upset by AEW’s Blood & Guts show. It was said “that just set the business back 30 years.” It was also said that some wrestlers had the polar opposite reaction as they, “would love to do something like that themselves.”

“I have heard from people in management and they hated it,” Scherer confirmed. This falls in line with Ringside News‘ exclusive report.

As Ringside News also exclusively reported on the day after Blood & Guts, members of the staff were also saying that Chris Jericho was “trying to be Shane McMahon” after that big fall off the cage. They were also appalled by the “barbaric” blading that was so obvious in the match.

Blood & Guts did garner a big television viewership. We’ll have to see how AEW follows up with that gory event. It certainly lived up to its name.
