The Hurt Business breakup was a decision that MVP and Bobby Lashley fought backstage. At the time, it was reported that the pushback only made McMahon dig his heels in harder and he stuck with his decision as Fightful Select initially reported.

Sources indicated that both MVP and Lashley met with Vince McMahon about the idea, but the latter dug his heels in even more.

Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander continued on their own as a tag team after they were kicked out of the Hurt Business. They did not win once. Each week they lost to a new opponent. They were also used as enhancement talent to put over the returning Viking Experience.

This week on Raw, they lost once again. This time was different. Cedric Alexander grabbed the microphone and shouted at Shelton Benjamin. He was tired of losing and wants to get back to where they were just a few months ago. They were Raw Tag Team Champions as part of the Hurt Business, but that time is over.

Cedric called Shelton a weak link and continued cutting a fierce promo on his partner.

Shelton was left at ringside as Cedric walked off after declaring that he is officially done with their team. We’ll wait on the next chapter with these two former Hurt Business members.

After Cedric Alexander cut his promo, Shelton Benjamin had a chance to address this backstage. Shelton Benjamin has seen a lot in the pro wrestling business. This is nothing new for him. He said that Cedric will fizzle out, but Benjamin will continue to survive.
