MVP Reveals Why He & Bobby Lashley Work So Well Together

MVP leads Bobby Lashley to the ring every week as WWE Champion. The All Mighty got to where he is by a lot of work, and that makes him very happy.

During After The Bell, MVP discussed the real man behind the intimidating WWE Champion. He said that Lashley is happiest when he’s working hard and training. Getting ready for a fight helps him stay focused as he turns his true personality up to 11.

“I always tell young, up and coming professional wrestlers, when you’re trying to play a character that’s not really you, it’s going to be difficult and fans can register that. Sometimes it’s not even consciously, it’s subconsciously they pick up on it. But, Bobby Lashley really is that combat athlete, Bobby loves to train, Bobby is happiest when he’s training and fighting. The Lashley that you see on the screen is Lashley when he’s his own personality turned way up. MVP is me, with my volume, my personality volume on 11. If you look, that’s the reason that we work so well.”

WWE split Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin up from the Hurt Business for some reason. That decision didn’t have a lot of backers in the locker room either, but Lashley carried on after WrestleMania 37 as WWE Champion without his backup.

Now Lashley is set to defend the title against both Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania Backlash on May 16. Obviously, he’s happy to have another big goal in front of him.
