Booker T Says Kenny Omega Winning The Impact World Title Shouldn’t Have Gone Down

Kenny Omega is certainly on top of the world right now as he currently holds the AEW World Title, AAA Title and the Impact World Title. He won the Impact World Title after beating Rich Swann at Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion event.

While there are fans who liked to see Omega winning the title, it seems a WWE Hall Of Famer isn’t so sure about the win. While speaking on his Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T talked about Kenny Omega’s Impact World Title win.

Booker T stated that it was a huge mistake on part of Impact Wrestling to let Swann lose to Omega as it ultimately does nothing for the company.

“I don’t know what Impact is thinking right now. Maybe they’re thinking about the rub. It’s a cool moment for AEW, it’s not a cool moment for Impact wrestling unless I own both companies and I was working the fans at the same time with both of my companies. For Rich Swann to go out and lose the title to Kenny Omega, it does absolutely nothing in my opinion [for Impact].”

Booker T further added that Omega beating Swann made it seem as if AEW wrestlers are better than Impact wrestlers.

“Bottom line. If the champion gets beat, which is supposed to be your franchise player, your number one guy and then he goes out and gets beat. I could be wrong, but for me, if it was my company, something like that wouldn’t have gone down. That’s just me.”

Kenny Omega is set to defend the Impact World Title at Under Siege on May 15. We will have to see who will be challenging Omega for the title and whether he will be able to retain his title or not.
