Kenny Omega is the Belt Collector now and he has titles from three different companies at this point. Andrade stepped up last night during AAA’s Rey De Reyes event and challenged The Cleaner for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania. That is an interesting move for many reasons.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the current situation with Andrade. He is working for two rival promotions in Mexico now, and commanding a big pay day. Odds are he actually took a pay cut to take that big match against Kenny Omega.
“What’s interesting is you know they announced him for the Federacion pay-per-view so he’s working for both shows for two rival promotions and I know what he’s getting for the Federacion show, which is a ton of money and there’s no way he’s getting that for AAA. I shouldn’t say there’s no way, but I can’t imagine it. What that tells me is that Andrade really wants that match with Kenny Omega.”
We’re not certain exactly how much money Andrade is making to work the Federacion event. He is apparently making so much that it’s doubtful AAA would offer him that much. A match against Kenny Omega is a big deal, and obviously Andrade wanted it enough to take a pay cut.
