The Inner Circle and Pinnacle will meet in the Blood & Guts match next week on AEW Dynamite. This will be a long and brutal match, but what’s next?
The Blood & Guts match was supposed to happen last year with the Inner Circle vs The Elite. That match had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Now they are finally holding that match over a year later.
While speaking to Wrestling Observer Radio, Chris Jericho was asked if Blood & Guts is supposed to be the end of The Inner Circle and Pinnacle’s storyline. Le Champion confirmed that it was originally supposed to be the end, but they moved dots around to connect them in a different way for the storyline.
“This is not the end of the story at all, the beginning in a lot of ways and, you know, once again I like to book ahead, it’s more like writing the ideas and then knowing where we’re going. It’s one of the things about wrestling that’s really cool. It’s almost like connect the dots, because you know you have to hit this dot to do what you wanna do, but then you connect this dot and then this dot and then sometimes the lines aren’t as straight as you originally think. Sometimes there are twists and turns, but when you long-term book at least you know that this dot needs to be hit.”
“Blood & Guts was something that, in my original thought, was kinda the end, and then it was moved on to more of the beginning, so you kinda rearrange accordingly. I’m really excited about the ideas and the planning.”
This all started in September with MJF and Jericho’s first meeting as Tony Schiavone met them in the parking lot on the day after the pay-per-view. Now we are getting Blood & Guts. It will also not be the end of their story at all.
