WWE is making plans to tour again, but they aren’t ready to jump the gun just yet. They are also paying attention to what AEW is doing about the situation.
AEW has Daily’s Place booked until June 30th. That means AEW could start touring again in July, but nothing has been officially announced yet. WWE is paying close attention to All Elite Wrestling’s moves, because they don’t want to come second.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE could move their plan up to start live events once again if AEW starts in July. Superstars were told that July or August could be a goal for touring again. WWE wants to make sure that AEW isn’t the first to bring back their touring aspect, so they might accelerate their plans if AEW announces anything.
As far as returning to the road, there were hints this week inside the company of June. Talent was told August, or perhaps late July. However it was noted that if AEW was to start in July, they will move that up because they will do everything they can to make sure AEW doesn’t do it first.
We previously reported that WWE is considering some live events as test shows. Nothing has been officially announced, but both WWE and AEW are obviously very anxious about bringing back live fans in a tour setting. WWE obviously wants to do it first as well.
