WWE cut the IIconics from the roster on April 15th. That was a big surprise that nobody saw coming, especially Carmella.

Billie Kay was carving out a spot for herself on SmackDown. She was taking part in some hilarious skits and backstage angles. She was also using that resume gimmick to the best of her ability. Peyton Royce was floundering a bit on RAW, but WWE had paired Billie Kay with Carmella a few times, and she was looking forward to more of that.

During The Bella Twins podcast, Carmella reacted to Billie Kay and Peyton Royce’s firing. She was a bit “rocked” by the news because Mella was looking forward to working with Kay and continuing their partnership on television.

“I don’t know what the right or wrong things to say is. All I can speak from is my experience and we were super excited for this story and I felt like, okay, I’m done with this whole sexy gimmick that they want me to do, which is fine. It’s fun to be sexy, but I feel like I wanted to show my personality more. I wanted to show a little bit more of a fun side and I was looking forward to doing that with Billie. Like you said, our entrance alone, she was cracking me up. So I was really looking forward to seeing where that was going to go and unfortunately, we can’t do that anymore. Even Peyton, those two were some of my closest friends since they got here. So it was the first time I was really rocked by a release.”

We’ll have to see what happens with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce next. They will be free to sign elsewhere in a couple of months, and that might just happen. They are both preparing for their next steps, but it sadly won’t involved WWE at this point.
